In the kinetic study of fast chemical reactions, online in-situ spectral monitoring is the only research method
In situ Raman spectroscopy can quantitatively determine the kinetics of base-catalyzed hydrolysis of methyltrimethoxysilane. An in-depth understanding of the hydrolysis reaction of alkoxysilanes is of great significance for the synthesis of silicone resins. The hydrolysis reaction of alkoxysilanes, especially methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS), under alkaline conditions is very fast, and the reaction is difficult to terminate, and at the same time, there is a reverse hydrolysis reaction in the system. Therefore, it is very difficult to determine reaction kinetics using conventional offline analytical methods. In-situ Raman spectroscopy can be used to measure the content changes of MTMS under different reaction conditions and conduct alkali-catalyzed hydrolysis kinetics research. It has the advantages of short measurement time, high sensitivity and less interference, and can monitor the rapid hydrolysis reaction of MTMS in real time.
Real-time monitoring of the reduction process of raw material MTMS in the silicone reaction to monitor the progress of the hydrolysis reaction
Changes in MTMS concentration with reaction time under different initial conditions, changes in MTMS concentration with reaction time at different temperatures
